FAQ

Straight answers about how Rediworks works.

Signing up, credentialing, licensing, pay, malpractice, and shifts.

Getting started

  • Who can sign up?

Six clinician types: physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), CRNAs, registered nurses (RN), and medical assistants (MA). Every shift is at an urgent care clinic. Rediworks doesn't list shifts for other roles.

  • How do I sign up?

Create an account on the clinician portal, pick your role, and start your credential wallet. No recruiter intake call, and no waiting for someone to email you back. Credentialing runs after you sign up.

  • What info do you need upfront?

Your name, your email, and your role. The rest, such as license numbers and certifications, gets collected as you build your wallet. You can start before every document is scanned.

  • Do I need a CAQH profile?

No. CAQH is a credentialing profile that many physicians, NPs, and PAs already keep for insurance enrollment. If you have a CAQH ID, you can store it in your wallet. Either way, you upload your documents and enter your details yourself, and some roles don't use CAQH at all.

  • How fast can I actually start picking up shifts?

It depends on your role, the licenses you hold, and how quickly you upload your documents. Once your wallet is verified and you hold the license or certification your role needs in the state where the shift is posted, you can apply. Your dashboard shows what's outstanding.

  • Is there a fee to join?

There's no fee to create an account or build your wallet. The rate is shown on every listing before you apply.

Credentialing

  • What does credentialing actually check?

It depends on your role. Your licenses, certifications, and documents are reviewed, and exclusion and sanctions screening runs automatically against the federal OIG, SAM, and OFAC lists. If your role has an NPI, the national provider number, it's looked up in the national registry. You can see the status of each item in your dashboard.

  • How long does credentialing take?

It varies with your role, the licenses you hold, and how quickly your documents come in. Your dashboard shows the status of each item, so you can see what's still open without asking.

  • What documents do I need to upload?

It depends on your role, and your wallet lists the items for yours. Expect a government ID and the license or certification your role requires. Physicians, for example, add board certification, and NPs, PAs, and CRNAs add their national certification. Some facilities ask for additional items.

  • What happens when a license or document expires?

Your wallet flags a license that's close to expiring, so you can renew it with the state board and update the date. One that has passed its date shows as expired in your wallet until you update it.

  • Do I have to re-credential for every facility?

No. Your wallet is portable across every Rediworks facility: you upload your documents once and reuse them. Some operators add facility-specific items, such as their own attestations or site training.

  • What if something fails verification?

An item that doesn't pass review shows in your wallet. A clerical problem (a wrong number, a mismatched name spelling, an expired document) clears once you correct it. A substantive one, such as an exclusion hit, may need additional review before you can apply to shifts.

  • How do I update my wallet (a new license, a new certification, a new address)?

Open your wallet, find the item, and upload the replacement or edit the field. The updated item goes back through review, and its status shows in your dashboard.

Licensing

  • Does Rediworks get me state licenses?

No. You hold your own state licenses and add them to your wallet, where they're reviewed. The shifts board filters by state, so you can see where shifts are posted. Most states don't license medical assistants, so an MA's wallet holds their certification instead. For questions about getting licensed in a new state, go to that state's board.

  • Can I work in multiple states?

Yes. Add each active state license to your wallet, and you can apply to shifts in any state where you hold one. Each license is reviewed on its own.

  • Does the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) help?

For physicians who qualify, the IMLC offers an expedited path to additional state licenses. Each state board still issues its own license. RNs have a separate compact, the Nurse Licensure Compact. Compact options for NPs, CRNAs, and PAs depend on the state. Check with the board in each state where you want to work.

  • How do you verify my licenses?

Rediworks staff review each license you add and set its status in your wallet. You can see that status in your dashboard.

  • What if a license is still pending?

A pending license doesn't open shifts in that state. Add it to your wallet once the board issues it, and you can apply there after it's been reviewed.

Pay and taxes

  • How do I get paid?

By direct deposit. Pay is deposited to the bank account on file after the shift's hours are approved. The rate is shown on every listing before you apply.

  • What does the platform handle vs. what's on me?

Rediworks handles the shift listings, the credential wallet and its checks, hours submission, and getting pay to your bank account. Keeping your licenses and certifications current is on you.

  • Does Rediworks help with taxes?

Rediworks doesn't give tax advice. The taxes guide under Resources explains in general terms how locum income is taxed. A CPA can tell you what applies to your situation.

Malpractice

  • Who provides malpractice coverage?

Malpractice coverage is in place for shifts worked through Rediworks. The malpractice guide under Resources explains claims-made and occurrence policies and tail coverage.

  • Do I need to carry my own policy?

Coverage is in place for shifts worked through Rediworks. Work you do elsewhere, such as your own contracts, another agency, or a part-time employer, isn't covered by it. An insurance broker who works with clinicians can tell you what the rest of your practice needs.

Shifts

  • How do shifts work?

Operators post shifts with the date, location, hours, and rate. You look through the open shifts and apply to one that fits, and the operator confirms. Then you show up and work it.

  • How do I apply to a shift?

Open the listing, review the rate and the facility details, and apply. Your application goes to the operator. No recruiter in between and no phone screen.

  • How far out can I schedule shifts?

That's up to the operators. A shift appears on the board when an operator posts it, and each listing shows its dates.

  • What happens if I have conflicting shifts?

The platform won't book you into a shift that overlaps one you're already confirmed for. It only sees Rediworks bookings, so shifts you've picked up elsewhere are yours to track.

After the shift

  • How do timesheets work?

Submit your hours through the platform after the shift. The facility approves them, Rediworks approves the payout, and pay is deposited to the bank account on file.

  • Can I pick up the same clinic again?

Yes. Your wallet is reused at every Rediworks facility, so a second shift at the same clinic doesn't start with uploading your documents again.

  • What if the facility wants me back regularly?

The operator can invite you to a shift through the platform. You see the invitation and accept or decline.
