How Rediworks Works for Urgent Care Clinicians

Rediworks Team3 min read

Rediworks is a self-service marketplace for urgent care locum tenens shifts. You sign yourself up, upload your credentials once, and see shifts with the rate shown. This post explains each step for clinicians, and it says what Rediworks doesn't do.

Who Rediworks is for

Rediworks lists urgent care shifts only. It's built for seven clinician types: physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners, physician assistants, CRNAs, registered nurses, medical assistants and assistant physicians.

Clinics post the shifts. Which shifts you see depends on what clinics near you have posted for your role, so the list changes from week to week. Assistant physician licenses exist only in some states, so shifts for that role exist only in those states.

Sign up yourself

You create your own account. There's no recruiter intake, no form that ends in a phone call, and no demo to schedule before you can look around.

Build your Rediworks credential wallet once

The credential wallet holds the documents a clinic needs before it puts you on a schedule. You upload them once and reuse them at every facility on Rediworks, so a second clinic doesn't mean a second packet.

What you'll need depends on your role. Have these ready before you start:

  • Your current license or certification
  • Proof of training and any board or national certification that applies to your role
  • DEA registration, if you prescribe controlled substances
  • Work history and professional references
  • Malpractice history, where it applies to your role
  • Life support certifications

After you upload, your licenses and documents are reviewed, and exclusion screening runs automatically. Your dashboard shows the status of each check, so you can see what's cleared and what's still open without asking anyone. A file stays open until its last item comes back, so check the dashboard for anything waiting on you.

See the rate on every Rediworks shift

Each listing shows the rate, the location, the shift length and the facility before you apply. You can filter shifts by date, location and pay.

The rate on a listing is the maximum the clinic has posted for that shift, shown as "up to." You name your own rate when you apply. You decide whether a shift is worth your time before you spend any time on it.

Count your own costs against the rate. A listing says when a shift requires travel. For any other shift, the trip is your cost.

Apply, work the shift, get paid

You apply in the platform. The clinic reviews who applied and decides who works the shift. If you're accepted, you show up and work.

After the shift, the hours are approved, and pay is deposited to the account you have on file. Before your first shift, read the terms attached to it, including how malpractice coverage and cancellations are handled. What to expect on a first locum tenens assignment lists the terms to look for.

What Rediworks doesn't do

A self-service marketplace leaves some work with you.

  • No recruiter finds shifts for you. You search the listings and apply yourself.
  • No settings outside urgent care. Hospital, emergency department and telehealth shifts aren't listed.
  • No tax, legal or insurance advice. Take those questions to your own accountant, attorney or broker.

If you're new to this kind of work, Locum Tenens 101 for urgent care clinicians covers pay, licensing and credentialing in general. Sign up to see shifts.
